When my wife (Davida) and I formed this new church ministry (Dedicated Believers Ministries) we believed by faith that one day we’d receive products that would be used to encourage children, families, impoverished individuals, needy persons, parents, grandparents, and local residents in the Flint, Greater Flint, and Genesee County community. Our vision was to create avenues and partnerships in hopes of leveraging resources that would be freely given to persons who needed them – whether they attended Dedicated Believers Ministries or not – the intent was to bless people…period.
I was contacted by Good360 regarding a recent donation by CVS and asked if Dedicated Believers Ministries wanted to participate in the local disaster relief efforts to reach community residents. My answer was a resounding, “YES!” Since inception, our prayers were to have relevant resources to help the most vulnerable: struggling families and young children. God heard our prayer, placed this desire in our hearts, and brought it to pass blessing us via national and local partners (Catholic Charities / North End Soup Kitchen) to offer help.
As a kid, I watched The Jeffersons, and remembered George Jefferson’s wife, Weezy, voluntarily worked at “The HELP Center.” This touched my heart as a child and I always loved that name and mission to help, which has now come to life. The H.E.L.P. Center is a ministry (under the auspices of Dedicated Believers Ministries) that will do just that – help – which is an acronym for: Helping, Encouraging, and Lifting People! We are excited about the opportunity to distribute baby formula, baby products, diapers, Vitamin C, and help people in need; especially those exposed to lead and water contamination. Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” To God be the glory for the great things that He has done (…is doing and will do)!
